| VANTASTIC Meet Pam and her beloved Collie, Shaggy: Shaggy is incontinent and dead. Meet Peter, Pam’s husband: he has a heart condition and erectile dysfunction. Meet their daughter, Scratchit: she is enormous, and is going through the early menopause. Meet Scratchit’s gay best friend, Doddie: he is depressed and shoplifts buckets and spades.
They are all on holiday together, in two caravans. Stuck.

| LOBSTER Meet Chatty, she is old. She lives with her grandson Tobias in a nuclear bunker. Chatty likes to be punched. She is black and blue. Tobias has never been allowed out, he has been locked in a nuclear bunker with his two pet lobsters since he was five years old. Tobias wanted a friend. Chatty found him one. The boy with no name.
They are all waiting for the end of the world.

| Russell Barr’s previous work, full of his unique brand of surreal dark humour, includes Sisters, Such Devoted Sisters, produced by Max Stafford-Clark’s Out of Joint, The Super Slash Naughty XXXmas Story and Danny Diva (about the deaf drag artiste from Bette Bourne’s infamous BlooLips Troupe) at Soho Theatre last year.

VANTASTIC & LOBSTER is a double bill of two short plays performed on the same evening: one in the downstairs theatre and the other upstairs. On Fridays and Saturdays LOBSTER plays twice, both before and after VANTASTIC, so you can choose in which order to see them. When booking you will be asked whether you want to start at 7pm or 8pm.
